JERMAINE DANTE' BURSE

Jermaine Dante’ Burse is a prolific, self-taught artist who began drawing impressive black and white sketches on almost any surface he could find when he was three years old. Those black and white sketches have evolved into a vibrant and captivating exploration of color and texture. It features a unique blend of abstract shapes and forms that create a mesmerizing, dynamic and engaging visual experience.

A Napa Valley Bay Area native, Jermaine’s innovative use of color, compounding presents subdued, but often bold and strikingly larger than life figures that lend to the intrigue and complexity of his paintings. “Everything you can imagine is real,” wrote Pablo Picasso and Jermaine’s work is the epitome of that philosophy.

Over the past decade, his art has evolved to a spontaneous realism genre that cannot be easily categorized but it is certainly recognized as a “Maine'' original with his unique depictions of figures such as Barack Obama, Tupac Shakur, Stevie Wonder, Brand Ferrari, Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn, and Muhammed Ali. Jermaine also focuses on socially charged topics with a few series touching on Homelessness and Health-Care reform and going after your dreams. He also accepts commissioned art from clients who seek the “Maine'' touch for portraits of their favorite icons, families and friends.

Jermaine’s art is on display at various San Francisco Art Galleries, Thelma Harris Fine Art Gallery in Oakland and Wineries throughout his home in Napa Valley. Jermaine has broadened his exposure by attending and showing work at Art Basel in Florida, Concours d'Elegance in Carmel, Kaaboo Music Festival in Del Mar, California, the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas and a plethora of Foundational dinners where Professional Athletes (Stephen Curry, Damian Lillard, David Robinson, Ty Lue, Brian Shaw, Jason Richardson, Fred Warner, etc.) and Celebrities ( Robert Dinero, Kevin Hart, Don Cheedle, etc.) have attended and purchased Jermaine’s art. Jermaine is an active participant with Doctors Without Borders, Enduring Hearts, Build a Heart Foundation, Mentis Mental Health as well as Ferrari Sacramento Chapter, Urban Ed Academy where he has helped raise hundreds of thousands of dollars towards those organizations using his art.

Jermaine is currently working on two major projects that will be exhibited at the San Francisco City Hall as well as both the Oakland MOMA and San Francisco MOMA.

The sky's the limit for this kid from the Bay Area. As his brand continues to grow, so do his personal expectations to be the best version of himself in everything that he set mind to. What is left to achieve for this artist that has never allowed boundaries to define the scope of his work or his dreams. Only time will tell...

"AS A SELF-TAUGHT ARTIST, MY GOAL IS TO USE MY ABILITIES TO PROVOKE THOUGHT, THROUGH ARTISTIC EXPRESSION.  I WANT TO BRING AWARENESS TO SOCIAL, ECONOMICAL AND WORDLY ISSUES ABOUT URBAN ART CULTURE THROUGH PORTRAITS OF MINORITY AND URBAN SUBJECTS. PORTRAITS AND PIECES OF MY ART OPEN A WINDOW INTO THE INNER WORKINGS OF A CERTAIN COMMUNITY, WHILE OTHER PAINTINGS SIMPLY TRY AND ENHANCE THE AUDIENCE EXPERIENCE. MY GOAL IS TO INSPIRE EVERYONE THROUGH MY ART BECOME GLOBAL EMBASSADORS FOR CHANGE."
